Our Approach – Soaztherapy

back diagram smaller Our Approach SoaztherapyThe main culprit in the series of postural muscles is the Soaz muscle (or Psoas).  What is the Soaz muscle?  It is a very large muscle about 16 inches long that sits on both sides of your spine in the lower half of your vertebrae.  (See diagram).  The muscle in red is the Soaz muscle.

The unequal forces in these muscles can have dramatic and far reaching effects not only on the spine that it attaches to but also on the surrounding organs like, the bowel, bladder and the intestines.

The biggest factor in back, hip, groin, upper and lower leg and Pelvic pain is caused by imbalances in the Soaz muscle. Many believe that this muscle is the most important muscle in the body.

The problems caused from a Soaz muscle that is tight, overworked and unbalanced include:

  • Lower Back Pain
  • Sacroiliac Pain
  • Sciatica
  • Disc Problems
  • Pelvic Pain
  • Hip and Buttock Pain
  • Scoliosis
  • Spondylolysis
  • Hip Degeneration

If you have any of these problems, please contact us at Posturepro for more information and to get your Soaz checked.
