Exercise Balls

Swiss Ball Collapses During Exercise!

During my twenty  or so years as a Physiotherapist in various areas including workcover and private practice as I am now, Many ways to exercise have come and gone. In the early years of the Swiss Ball revolution when they flooded the market, I heard of  a report of a woman who was exercising on a Swiss ball that collapsed. This left her with severe Back problems. I do not know where the Swis ball was purchased but it makes a very valid and important point.  GET THE BEST QUALITY SWISS BALL!  Posturepro only supports and uses the AOK brand Swiss ball and the reason is the AOK ball was designed and developed by Bradley Wilson, an Australian Engineer and Sports Scientist back in the early 90′s when they were not available in Australia. His innovation and expertise has taken the Swiss Ball to its current form which is at the cutting edge of technology and research. At AOK they continue to seek out the absolute best quality and material to use in their swiss balls. The AOK swiss ball can withstand a load of between  1000 static and 4000 kilograms active weight. The other technological feature of the med Pro Plus balls is that if per chance you rolled onto a thumb tack or such on the floor when exercising these balls have the ability to SLOWLY DEFLATE, thus preventing a sudden explosive force bringing you to the ground.  This assures you of your Safety and Protection when using this product.

Why Use Swiss Balls?

Posture and Core are the foundations of your physical body.( The Swiss ball still remains one of the best and easily accessable ways to work these.) So to use an example of how important the Core muscles  are to your physical strength and flexibility, think of a house with bad or inferior foundations. Would you want to go ahead and put up the walls and the roof knowing this?. Of course you wouldn’t. So many people just start a Gym or Fitness programme and a few weeks later come to us with Back pain. Because they dont have Good core Posture and strength they are at risk of overloading the muscles around the Pelvis and Back. So your Posture and core muscles are like the foundations of your body. You must have these in optimal condition before you start running on the treadmill or pumping weights for your arms and legs.  Also, as we age these muscles become significant in helping us to stay fit and active and continuing to do the things we love. When you consider that much of our working lives are spent sitting ( the worst thing you can do for your Back) This contributes to the weakening and stiffening of the Postural muscles ( the Soaz muscle ). Purchase Here
